Australian Educational Documents

Australian educational documents are not public documents and cannot be apostilled or legalised standing alone without certification.


	Educational documents may include...
	University or Tertiary Degrees \| Diplomas \| Certificates \| Academic Transcripts TAFE \| Trade Certificates \| Transcripts Higher School \| Matriculation Certificates Secondary School Semester Reports \| Principals’ Statements Educational documents must first be certified by an "authorised officer" whose signature is registered with DFAT (e.g. an officer of a relevant Department of Education, or a designated employee in the Student Affairs section of a University), before an Apostille Certificate may issue in respect of that document, or embassy legalisation effected. However, a Notary Public is authorised by law to certify copies of Australian educational documents, and Apostille Certificates or embassy legalisation issued in respect of such certified copies are popular, valid and universally accepted. An apostilled or legalised notarised copy of an educational document has the additional advantage of preventing your original document, often of sentimental as well as practical value, from being defaced and ensues it remains in your control and possession for future use.
