Australian Educational Documents

AUSTRALIAN EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS ARE NOT PUBLIC DOCUMENTS AND REQUIRE VERIFICATION OR NOTARISATION BEFORE QUALIFYING FOR APOSTILLE OR AUTHENTICATION CERTIFICATES.

  1. AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES
  2. Degrees      |      Certificates      |      Testamurs     |      Academic transcripts      |      Diplomas      |      Awards

The Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) in Australia will only issue Apostille and Authentication Certificates in respect of Australian Degrees| Certificates | Testamurs | Academic Transcripts | Diplomas | Awards, when the relevant document has had its contents verified as a ‘true and accurate record’ by the central student administration office of the issuing university | institution. However, if that body has a public online verification register capable of public examination, that process will not be necessary but a date of birth and student number must be provided for online verification.

If not verified in above circumstances, many public universities | institutions have an existing arrangement with the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) to have certain of its staff provide it with the required information to verify the subject document’s contents.

If you proceed in this manner, your document does not need to be “notarised” by a Notary Public, unless you require a copy of your original document to be verified/authenticated/apostilled rather than the original (which you may wish to preserve in its original condition to eliminate the chance it may not be returned to you by those asking for its legalisation.

If you are unable to attend yourself to the verification process outlined above, Apostille Australia Certificate Service will verify your original or notarised copy of Degree/Testamur, Academic Transcript, Diploma or Award as part of its professional services for a fee of $150.00 for verification, and/or $100.00 for notarisation.
